I have another 104 days until the Lincoln Marathon. Thank. God.
This weekend was supposed to entail a 15-mile run on Saturday followed by a 75-minute ride on Sunday.
Saturday morning I experienced a whiplash-inducing seizure (yes, that apparently IS possible). It hurts to hold up my head, I can't look at the ground, the sky, or more than about 90 degrees left or right. Obviously, running will be hard.
But I can't take this lying down. I feel so angry this happened before a key workout. I'm going to try to get in 9 miles this afternoon, and push for 11 if I feel ok.
If I had gotten in the 13 miles last weekend I would feel a little better, but this was supposed to be the weekend where I caught up.
Not to mention I have a 5k next weekend... Doc said my neck should feel better in less than a week, but I am incredibly doubtful.
I still have another 104 days to plan around this and figure out how to get in what I'm missing. Ideally, I wouldn't do the 5k next weekend and would do a long run instead. Another option is to do a long run after the 5k, which might not be a bad idea. Going to think about it and see what's possible.
